MONTIGO RESORT, BATAM (PART II)

DAY 1

We reached the resort at about 9AM Batam Time. As our room will only be ready by 3PM (which is their check-in time), we made full use of our day by heading to the city.

Before setting off to the city, we first booked for their in-villa BBQ room service for that night.
*They require 8 hours in advance to book*

Montigo has a free shuttle bus to the city which:
Leaves the resort at 10AM and the city at 4PM
*Book in advance as they are subjected to availability*

As we did not make any prior arrangement beforehand, there were not enough seats for the 4 of us. The resort booked a cab driver for us which cost about SGD 40 for a 2 way ride. The journey to the city takes about 45 mins to an hour.

The shops open around 10AM at Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall as well as the other shops along the streets there.

We spent about 6 hours in the city.

In the shopping mall we went to:

  • A&W
  • Godiva
  • Medicure
  • Supermarket
  • Shopping
    • Bags & Shoes (rather inexpensive, selling for SGD 10+)
    • Cosmetics (In their departmental stores such as BHG, Robinsons etc here in SG. Cheaper there!)
  • Check out the liquor store here if you intend to drink in the villa (not sure about the price range tho)
Along the streets
  • Full Body Massage (75 mins for SGD 8 only!)

We spent quite a bit of our time in the supermarket! Checked out with 3 trolleys and 1 basket worth of food & supplies.

Massage @ Five Star 2! (Located along the streets opp the mall)
A picture with our masseuses. I usually don't do massage as I'm very tickled by it. And no, I did not regret a single bit. I truely enjoyed it as compared to massages I've experienced in Singapore. I recommend this massage parlour we visited! Extremely good service and it's cheap!

Back to our resort!

The BBQ men (I don't know how to term them, let's just do with this) set up around 7PM. We chose to have it at our balcony which was slightly sheltered, instead of the roof top as if was raining before that. Else, it'd be nice to have it there, over looking the villa & the breath taking view of the sun set.

We ordered a 2-pax BBQ dinner which I feel was sufficient for the 4 of us. Whatsmore we just came back from the city eating + grocery shopping. The 2-pax dinner cost us a total of SGD 120.

Dinner was BBQed and served by them *bliss* They even offered to BBQ our marshmallow which we purchased from the supermarket earlier on.

Yum Yum!

By the end of Day 1 we felt pathetic 'cos we barely had much cash left HAHAHAHA. We weren't expecting to spent that much.

Day 2 & 3 coming soon, cheers!

P.S/ Do check out Qianny's blog as she will be writing a post as well as footage from our trip ;)
